Shelby County, Tennessee

Recommended Posts

In between the rainy weather related to Hurricane Laura in Shelby County, Tennessee.  Can you help me identify the below three birds that include the plover in the first two photos, the shorebird next to the yellowlegs in the second and third photo, and what-appears-to-be a buff-breasted sandpiper (note the stilt for size reference).  Thanks.

Plover is a semipalmated. I’m almost certain the sandpiper is buff breasted. The bird near the yellowlegs is a phalarope. Wilson’s I believe.

I agree with Buff-breasted Sandpiper and Wilson’s Phalarope. You also appear to have a Baird’s Sandpiper (far left) in the first photo. Excellent group of shorebirds.
