BlueJay
Saw this bird about 2 weeks ago in Cary, NC. Any help in identifying it would be greatly appreciated.
akandula
Translucent crescents near the wingtip = Red-shouldered.

Tony Leukering
Tail pattern wrong for Red-shouldered, with few and wide pale bands; this is a Broad-winged. We can see that it's in molt, so wing pattern possibly not to be trusted. Additionally, the pale subterminal to the longest primaries is too wide for Red-shouldered. Finally, width:length ratio of wings is wrong for Red-shouldered; the beast has relatively short, wide wings. 2
