I have a pic i got in Colorado I am having trouble 100% identifying. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pikes Peak, Colorado. Sept 6th 2020.  Is this a Pewee? The tufts at the base of the beak are throwing me off.

If it is a Pewee what one is it?

It has a white crown and face, so I wonder how you got to pewee, except that pewees are the first passerine species in the book.

Identification is not about finding a particular field mark in the book, but ruling out every other species that it might be.

Welcome to Whatbird!  Try these for comparison.  Size is difficult to judge in the field but note that the jay is almost twice the size of the wood-pewee.  The jay is also a much lighter gray, lacks the wood-pewee's white wing bars, has a heftier bill, and has an overall stockier build.
