Seriously, this was one of my best trips up to Wright's Lake, and I've come up here for birding so many times! https://ebird.org/checklist/S141869160 Wow, a Goshahwk! Connor Cochrane
Birding wasn’t the primary focus of this trip but still got some fun mountain birds while fishing. https://ebird.org/checklist/S141885914

dragon49
I had planned on chasing a nearby Roseate Tern lifer at sunrise, but it was raining when I left my apartment, so I switched to plan B and went after an Eastern Towhee lifer, praying it wouldn’t be raining when I arrived after a 60–90-minute trip. I got the lifer with great photos and great audio! https://ebird.org/checklist/S141934983 On the way home, just down the road from the first checklist, I stopped by a known location, looking for a Dickcissel lifer that would have made the county rare bird alert as well. I had a feeling it was gone, as nobody had seen it there since April 9th. https://ebird.org/checklist/S141945610

dragon49
It was a relief to finally get my Cliff Swallow Lifer, which is the only reason I came here. Like my two previous trips to this hotspot, I spent a long time struggling to take photos and videos of swallows, and then spent hours at home going through photos and videos. So, I'm done with this hotspot for the year, as it doesn't offer anything else I need. If I care about county year lists after this year, (probably 🙂 ) I'll have to come back and repeat the exercise at least once a year. https://ebird.org/checklist/S142132479 Edited June 20 by dragon49
dragon49
Pretty good for a parking lot checklist. I probably could have gotten more species had I not spent so much time in one spot, trying to get good photos of the Monk Parakeets. Unfortunately, I couldn't get anything in focus: https://ebird.org/checklist/S142354088

IKLland
Not as good as the checklist above ⬆️, but still worth sharing here since this park is a lot smaller and not birded often. https://ebird.org/checklist/S142498092

Ed hogg
Actually now that I look, all the clips longer than 4:22 go blank after that time... I didn't think this used to be the case.

I'll write back with their answer.
dragon49
I was on my way to a different spot two miles away, however, the road was closed, so I stopped for a brief stationary checklist. Something did work out though, as I hadn't previously heard a Yellow-billed Cuckoo, and was able to capture some audio: https://ebird.org/checklist/S142590560 I was planning on visiting the American Crows on the way back anyway. I actually started what was to be the new main checklist, but never submitted it, as I had just gotten started, and it was so small. I saw one of the crows across the canal in a different county, so I took a quick stroll and submitted my first Broward County Checklist. The American Crow observation will make that county's Rare Bird Alert: https://ebird.org/checklist/S142612179 On to the main checklist. It was getting very hot, and I was getting tired, but after more than three and a half hours, the American Crows finally crossed over to my county, so I got what I came for, and also made the Rare Bird Alert for my county. https://ebird.org/checklist/S142606128 At the very end of the checklist, I submitted an incidental one for the neighboring county; this one with audio of one of the American Crows. Not sure how much the Broward reviewers know about that specific area, but I thought the audio might lend more credit to the first Broward checklist, where the bird wasn't calling: https://ebird.org/checklist/S142610363 Edited June 25 by dragon49

dragon49
I enjoy these parking lot checklists. Never under pressure to get a lot of species, and I'm often surprised by what I do find. In my county, it's rare to find Common Mynas this far east, and it was nice to find the Least Tern fishing in the water retention pond. https://ebird.org/checklist/S143030451

dragon49
Awesome day! I got the Bronzed Cowbird lifer I was after! Also, decent number of species for the short distance covered: https://ebird.org/checklist/S143286559

However, that is the type of media that you should NOT upload to eBird. I’m fine uploading 18-20 photos per species if all the photos are mainly unique and different-the majority of these photos are very similar. Only upload many photos per species if they’re mostly different.
dragon49
I woke up late and took a light day. I was hoping, but not expecting to get a Bobolink lifer. No rush, as come September, hundreds, if not thousands of these birds will be flying over the same fields daily. Decent number of species, considering I was walking around in the 90° heat of the afternoon: https://ebird.org/checklist/S143366494
dragon49
I took another light day. I hadn't been here in a while.
