Your checklist of the day!

Great three days in and around Guadalupe Mountains National Park - check out the list from GMNP - Dog Canyon (north side of park accessible through New Mexico only - first listed), and then the ones (2-4) driving around with this year's current queen birder of Texas (Michelle Romedy) and a couple of her friends where we managed several lifers including Rough-legged Hawks and a Ferruginous Hawk (not to mention my first Dark Morph Red-tailed Hawk!)  At the end of the second to last day, I stopped by a random place to bird for a quick bit before the sun went down, only to discover it was THE location for the Blue Mockingbird that's been seen recently!  After only about 5 minutes, it appeared for me! (5) Lastly, I went through Balmorhea Lake on the way home and was able to pick up a few more lifers there too (6)!

Wow! Looks like you had a great trip! I'm really jealous of that Blue Mockingbird!

Two owl species and my lifer NOBO! Had a fun time sifting through all the sound and being able to forget about trying to get photos as the area was socked in with fog.

Also, the NOBO recording is a "found recording!" It was in the background of the WCSP recording. Kind of an "audio bomb"

Dang, five goose sp?! That'd be extremely difficult to do anywhere in Michigan.

Love getting goose slams! They’re not always easy to do in my yard. Now if you go to Quivira this time of year you can get thousands of all 5 species without even trying!! At our place though the white geese can be tough.
