They are regionally sensitive in Florida from Oct. 1-Apr. 15 due to the trapping of wild birds for sale on the illegal market. 4

Birds are cool
8 mile trail run in Beaverdam. I saw at least 300 Chipping Sparrows! 250 is apparently high, so this amount is awesome! Pretty good activity, probably because of an incoming storm. https://ebird.org/checklist/S124990805

Quiscalus quiscula
First checklist of the year! Not impressive, first time birding here and with a group. Really quiet, tough finding any birds. https://ebird.org/checklist/S125070504
IKLland
Pretty good day for the first day of the year, two lifers. Not visible on the checklist is 3 Painted Buntings. https://ebird.org/checklist/S125074309 Edited January 1 by IKLland

Birds are cool
This was just my woods! Lots of activity. 34 species I total including a Winter Wren which I only saw once last year, and a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher that I haven't seen since October! Really good birding for here. https://ebird.org/checklist/S125094992
Zoroark
A light rain this morning ended before the wind was supposed to pick up, so I visited the local park with my father and got a fair selection of common birds. A Peregrine Falcon made a surprise visit to stir up the pigeons and blackbirds. https://ebird.org/checklist/S125098937

Quiscalus quiscula
https://ebird.org/checklist/S125228547 Awesome birding for this location and season. Northern Harrier is a really good bird, hasn't been seen for several months in the county and only my second sighting ever.
dragon49
Four Checklists today, all part of a Christmas Bird Count: https://ebird.org/checklist/S125175075 - The Blue-headed Vireo was a lifer. https://ebird.org/checklist/S125192852 - Prior to this hike, all my Ruby-throated Hummingbirds were pretty bad. I was fortunate enough to get one in the open, not moving, and with good lighting. Take a look at my photos. https://ebird.org/checklist/S125197727 https://ebird.org/checklist/S125208478 - I only uploaded the bad pic of an American Coot and the not-so-great photo of a Ring-necked Duck, because they were both hotspot lifers.
