chipperatl
Was looking up photos of Northern Goshawk, juvenile, and came across the pics on this checklist. A NOGO taking out a Great Black-backed Gull. Observer said it took it out of the air. https://ebird.org/checklist/S32448991?_gl=1*e9n5lj*_ga*MTM1ODQ0MTYzMi4xNjY1MjY5NjI3*_ga_QR4NVXZ8BM*MTY2NjczMjU1OS4zNS4xLjE2NjY3MzI2NjEuNDAuMC4w&_ga=2.94857948.1168092033.1666130279-1358441632.1665269627

Birds are cool
I met a volunteer at Zonolite Park(the park in Atlanta where I photographed the Mallards and Cedar Waxwing), and it turns out that I can help them get a 2000 dollars grant to plant native wild edibles! They would be great for photographing the birds, and it is a very cool experience.
Birds are cool
@Connor Cochrane, @Birding Boy, your photos are up on the top rated media for the year for the US! https://ebird.org/region/US?yr=cur#change-time-dropdown
Birds are cool
I have never had any of my photos up on the top media for the current year in Georgia ever! I know that we are less than a month into the year, but I have all except for 3 photos up there! Thank you for all the ratings! https://ebird.org/region/US-GA?yr=cur

I talked to one of the volunteers at Zonolite park, and on Friday we are going to talk to the company giving the grant, and then we can buy the native plants from a nursery in North Georgia! I am going to get to help pick out and plant the wild edibles! It is really kinda cool.

Birds are cool
First track meet of the season. I have not really tried to PR in the two mile, so tonight's 2 mile race was a big PR (over a minute). I strained my calf on Sunday so still not 100 percent. 2 mile: 12:33. 1st place (1:13 min PR) 1 mile: 6:04. 1st place (not a PR) This race was less than 15 minutes after the 2 mile race. I probably could have PRed in the mile if it was first. Me finishing up the 2 mile. Pic not great quality since it was taken with a phone.

IKLland
anyone else hate how eBird does the top photos on the homepage these days? Instead of putting the highest rated photos up, they’re putting up random photos with at least a few decent ratings. I’ve seen some photos with two ratings and an average of 3 stars up there. Even the 5 start photos are usually photos with very few ratings. This is not great because if there’s only three ratings, there’s a higher chance of the photo being overrated than if 50 people rated it.

Also with how they changed things I usually can't get more than 12 ratings on a photo at most when before I was able to get more

I noticed this with Plam Beach County photos, but hadn't mentioned it, because I thought this was an anomaly in my county. I thought that maybe it wasn't a bug; just some sentient logic trying to bring attention to photographers not normally profiled in Ebird. I'm friendly with some reviewers. If I can get the scoop on the story, I'll share it here.

Zoroark
I think the purpose of that is to give exposure to more photographers. If someone uploaded a bunch of old photos at once, there's a fair chance they could have over a dozen 5-star pictures, and those would sit in the feed for a month while nobody else's pictures get seen. With the new setup, I've noticed that the photos are sometimes different when you reload the page. The only issue is it still says "top media" instead of "new media."
