tdteal
Just came across this picture of a flycatcher when I was in Salem Oregon on May 23, 2015. I was hoping someone might be able to help me with the ID. Thank You If you can lighten it up at all feel free.
The Bird Nuts
Long primary projection, dark vest, peaked head - Looks like a Western Wood-Pewee.
psweet
Looks pretty big-headed, and there's some contrasting white in the middle of the chest -- perhaps Olive-sided?
The Bird Nuts
Hmm...I didn't realize that some Olive-sideds have dark throats. We've been seeing Olive-sideds regularly here (our photos below) and they have white throats and undertail coverts. I didn't think tdteal's bird had a large enough head and beak. psweet
Between the shadow and the angle, I'm not sure we're getting a fair look at the throat or the bill size... I'm really not sure about this one.
tdteal
I tried to lighten it up a little and I thought it was an Olive Sided. Thank You for you help.
