This is my first fall as a "birder" so I have not seen many waterfowl. Today I walked 5 miles to a lake in Back Bay NWR because I heard there was a diverse population of duck there.  Turns out they were right, but now I need help knowing what I saw. Thanks in advance!

1. Duck in front with the long neck is a Northern Pintail, not sure about the one behind it.
2. Green-winged Teal, I think. Is that a bare spot on its breast?

3. Blue-winged teal.

And I think the rest are Green-winged teals.

Whatever #2 is, that bird looks badly injured. I’d rather not dwell on that.

Otherwise, I agree, photo 3 is Blue-winged Teal, all others are Green-winged Teal and Northern Pintail. Note the long, slender neck and more elegant look of the Pintail - especially in that first photo lol! And notice how small the Green-winged Teals are comparatively.

1 -- Northern Pintail (R), Green-winged Teal (L; note pale triangle under tail and lack of white markings on side feathers and scapulars)

2 -- ?? (that's a nasty wound)

3 -- Blue-winged Teal

4 -- Northern Pintail

5 -- Northern Pintail book-ended by Green-winged Teal

6 -- Green-winged Teal (again, note pale triangle below tail)

These are my thoughts as well. All though at first I also missed the last Pintail.
