Kittipaws
S. WI yesterday, mid afternoon, rainy. The first bird was near some yellow-rumped warblers and eastern bluebirds, I believe about the same size. I don't think it's the Ruffed Grouse that Merlin suggested 😏. Could the second bird be a Broad-winged hawk? It was a mile or two up! The third and fourth are the same bird, eastern wood pewee or phoebe ?; I understand if it’s not identifiable. Thank you! akandula
1. Passerine sp. 2-3. A Broad-winged Hawk is correct. Note the thick tail bands. 4-5. Looks like an Eastern Wood-Pewee with the long primary projection and distinct wingbars.
Tony Leukering
#1 is a sparrow, probably, but passerine sp is the most-certain ID
BirdNrd
For some reason, the first bird reminds me of a Townsend's Warbler. I'm not saying it is though.
