help ID birds and water fowl plwase!

They just have different forms. I have a book called "Stokes Field Guide to Birds, Western region". They show there is a one with more black feathers that is the summer form and when they have brown feathers, they are in winter form. They even show pictures of the birds.

Yeah, but they still have all black bills. They are kind of thin in some pictures, but I get what you are saying. They are also known though to have a white patch on their cheek. Which these ones don't. So I don't think it is a golden eye.
