Red-Shouldered Hawk - Western Mass

Is this a young Red-shouldered hawk? Not very good pictures but hopefully enough to identify. I first thought it was a Red-Tailed until I looked at the pics.

I agree with Red-shouldered.

I think it's a Broad-winged (compact shape, four wing fingers, dark subterminal band on tail).

Hmm...is it not showing the pale crescents near the wing tips?

I don't see it in the first photo and the other photos show some white patches, but they don't look large enough to me.

Broad-Winged is more likely but like HamRHead said I can see the pale crescents near the wing tips which made me question my first guess as a Broad-winged.

Fair enough, and I have very little experience with Broad-winged.

Between the wing structure and the tail pattern, this is a Broad-winged. If you look closely at that first shot, you can see that all of the primaries are paler than the secondaries -- this is typical of some young Broad-wings (and all young Red-tails), whereas Red-shouldered only show part of the outer primaries as pale.
