Big, blocky head (not round); eye well forward and small (not large and centered on head); crown contrastingly dark (often blackish) compared to nape; wide, white tip to rectrices (particularly before being worn off by late spring/summer); outermost rectrix (r6) obviously much shorter than longest rectrices (r1s) and usually shorter than the next rectrix in (r5); bill not jutting, but typically in line with curve of forehead. These character are more-or-less determinable from your photo of a Coop (probably a second-calendar-year bird; eye color).
