smittyone@cox.net 142
What's this Sparrow? Seen last week in NW Missouri. I'm guessing adult Song Sparrow (Eastern?).
The Bird Nuts 4,291
Song Sparrow is correct.

Connor Cochrane 2,182
And yes, It's Melospiza Melodia melodia (eastern)
Jim Highberger 3
Seems to have some similar features to Lincoln's. Makes me wonder if I misidentified the sparrows shown in my attached photos? Thanks!
Avery 725
Those are Lincoln’s.
gstacks 101
Look at how long the song’s tail is compared to the Lincoln’s
RobinHood 1,322
Agree with Lincoln's for the first two in the last set but is the third one a Song?
RobinHood 1,322
Overall appearance, heavy bill, long(ish) tail versus hint of buffiness and thin streaking. I would probably have reported it as Song.

I would probably have reported it as Song. All of them are definitely Lincoln's. Very thin breast streaking and very clean markings overall; weak malar stripe; buffy submustachial stripe; brown color not as rich as Song and there is a lot of blue-gray in the face, neck, and back.
Tony Leukering 2,289
All underparts streaking in Lincoln's is overlaid on buff; little to none is on Song. It's straightforward, and virtually absolute. While subtle, the peaked head shapes are different, with the peak on Song more centered over the eye, with Lincoln's behind the eye. Lincoln's is also, overall, a neater bird: crisper streaking, elegant.
