Lemme get my walker and ... dang it, where'd I put my teeth this time? Danged kids always hiding them, think it's funny. No respect; I blame the parents... Unless plans change, I'm going 2 hours to the Charleson SC area on Friday, my first time chasing a specific species. In this case, it's a Roseate Spoonbill. I'm pretty confident of success since eBird shows two spots that have had between 6 and 10 each over a dozen times this month. Normally I don't chase but ROSP are on my nemesis list, and I'd have to travel to get them anyway so I might as well take a shot when they're as close as they'll historically be. I'll probably be the sites for about 4 hours, but if I get the bird at the first one then I may skip the second one entirely. GOT IT!

Trevor L.
I just looked back at the first page of this and remembered how urgent I was to see a Golden Eagle at Yellowstone. Didn’t get it.

Yeah, as @Aveschapines pointed out in an earlier post, the later you are in the decade of your age the older it makes you. I'm still working on that part of the formula.... Why, I remember back in '64 when Hurricane Dora hit near Jacksonville and came all the way across the state. The eye of the hurricane came right over us!!! I lived in Union County, and the wind blew for days on end!!! Had one hen turned her back to the wind and laid the same egg three times! Mumble, mumble.......(just an old man reminiscing............)

Yeah, I've done that a few times, including a couple of National Guard activations. I learned that whenever possible, I'm getting the heck out. I'm sure it's the farthest thing from your mind, and I'm definitely NOT making light of your situation, but keep your binos handy. Tropical storms often blow in some pelagics. Good luck. We're thinking of you; keep up posted if you can.

Charlie Spencer
You may be an Old Birder if your bino and camera lenses are immaculate but you forgot to clean your bifocals.
