south western MO somewhere. my sister and I went to Mo for the weekend to visit my sister. on the way back, in Topeka we had a wheel fall completely off of our van resulting in hitting the guard rail and doing a 1.5 spin in the middle of three lanes. no one was hurt and we hit nobody. God was definitely protecting us!

Wow that sounds scary! Glad you’re all OK.

Anyone want to help me edit the 270 good photos I took this weekend and will put on ebird? I already pulled them out of the 6500 photos that I took on my trip. Sorting them only took me four hours! I don't even want to know how long it will take to edit them! ???

The benefit of being homeschooled means I can go on potential wild goose chases and make up for it later. https://ebird.org/checklist/S96373820
Wish me luck that there’s something there!

As unfortunately expected, it was a no go for both of those. Disappointing, but I saw a Greater Yellowlegs so I think I’ll make it.

I would rather do my own root canal with a Dremel tool, a pair of Vice-Grips, and a shot of Red Bull.

And I mean that in the nicest possible way.  :classic_biggrin:

I've done that once, and I don't think I ever want to do it again. It is a LOT of work!

WOW, and in 2 hours! I can completely understand that happening with cooperative shorebirds though, I think I took 400-500 once even though I only had 5 different subjects ? Still need to look through those some more.

I took 1900 photos of a single Wilson's Phalarope and Greater Yellowlegs once. I really like to sit there and hold the shutter button down! I need to get out of the habit of doing that.

Downside of mostly using a phone means I can’t see y’all’s signatures. Congrats on the creeper @Seanbirds!

My Nemeses: Blue-winged Teal, Bell's Vireo, Peregrine Falcon, Spotted Sandpiper, Eastern Towhee, etc., etc. (newest addition to my signature- the incomplete list of birds that every Kansas birder should have seen that I have yet to see.)
