Do you mind being specific about what you see? I looked at some pics, but I guess I missed it.

Sorry, yes. I was confused at first, since it’s neck looked too short. But of what we can see of the upper wing of the bird, it has a wide buffy streak under a dark iridescent speculum, then another smaller buffy streak. Plus the overall coloration of the bird is good for a pintail this time of year.

Thank you!

Well, shows what I know. 😂

Sorry about that. I thought the neck looked too short, but convinced myself the wing pattern was good for pintail.

Its more about the head shape and bill color than the wing for me. You can see the green and brown on the far wing, but the steep forehead and black bill are the characteristics I'm following. Plus general shape fits gadwall over pintail

That's a Gadwall.

There are no white secondaries. This is a Green-winged Teal:

1 - dark speculum bordered pale fore and aft

2 - narrow white patch on underwing

3 - steep forehead

4 - dull-colored legs

5 - white middle of the underparts

Should have went with my gut. Thought teal, and convinced myself of Gadwall.
