sbruenjes
I saw these birds in Cape May yesterday. I'm pretty sure I've got a pied-billed grebe, but I've never gotten a pic with the lighting this good before. Is that a young one or do they always look like this? I'm not sure of the second one... then a ruddy duck, American Widgeon, and maybe a blue-winged teal? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tony Leukering
The grebe is in basic plumage, lacking the distinctive "pied" bill and the black throat patch of alternate plumage/breeding condition.
