sbruenjes
I saw these birds yesterday at DeKorte Park in Northern New Jersey. I don't think I've ever seen yellowlegs all bunched together like this. Are these all yellowlegs? I am thinking they are mostly, if not all, greater yellowlegs based on how I perceive the bill length, but any help (and any ID tips) would be greatly appreciated. Tony Leukering
Greater Yellowlegs - long bill with pale base, which makes the nostrils obvious (unlike on Lesser); very long bill; and it's November: https://ebird.org/barchart?byr=1900&eyr=2020&bmo=1&emo=12&r=L389007&spp=greyel,lesyel Click on, particularly, the High Count tab
