My favorite bird of the day was actually pair of Purple Finches (male & female/immature) I saw in a natural wooded area. Previous to this sighting, I had never seen them anywhere but at feeders, so it was cool to see them "in the wild". They were eating berries from Japanese Honeysuckle.
