Avery
This morning was... insane. Grand slam of possible flat-headed sparrows, in big numbers. Checklist here: https://ebird.org/checklist/S121500577 See checklist for full resolution photos. But this bird stole the show. I was hopeful, as this species had been seen by one of the guys there twice this year, once while I was with him. I have a video of our search, but here are some screen grabs (since I can't upload to eBird) of my lifer YELLOW RAIL!!!!!! This was the second flush. I'll upload the video to YouTube and share it here in a bit. I'm soooooooo psyched! Plus got my lifer American Avocet finally! Birds are cool
Common Loon flyover a couple of days ago. Year bird, and first good visual. (My first observation of one was when I heard it, and thought I saw it.)

Birds are cool
FOF and high count white crowned sparrows. Best ever views from about ten feet away. I was able to listen to it's whisper song, alarm chips for a brief second, and calls! Great photos to.

Peromyscus
A Red-tailed Hawk was low in our neighborhood in the fog, flying up a street. It almost landed on a utility pole, then saw me approaching and made a right turn, disappearing into the mist.
