It’s a very uncommon (I want to say rare?) variant of the American Wigeon. It’s still the same species.

Was actually the 1st one i had ever seen i thought that they all looked like that. i may have seen and photo'd another one in rio vally back in 2018  still looking thru the pics

It is a morph of the American Wigeon.
