njones
Bird seen among American Black Ducks and Hooded Mergansers in salt waters on coast of Westport, CT, November 15, 9:36am. Sherwood Island State Park (beach and wetlands). Doesn't quite look like any of the shorebirds I recognize. Not a great photo - taken from a distance - but I'm looking at the length of the beak. Any ideas?
AlexHenry
Kinda looks like a Lesser Yellowlegs. Not sure if that is possible in CT in Nov? Edited November 19, 2020 by AlexHenry typo

Bill length, color, and structure of the bird look like LEYE. It's getting late in CT for them (will likely trip the eBird filter), but I think it's possible in Nov. Tony Leukering
I agree that it's a yellowlegs, but I'm not convinced as to species. The photo does not show the wing tips well and bill length could be foreshortened as the exact orientation of the bird to the camera is not really discernible. njones
Thanks! Definitely yellowlegs in this area earlier this fall, so that seems likely. Appreciate the help.
