GracesWarbler
Here's a bunch of Neotropic Cormorants I saw honking at each other in Gilbert, AZ yesterday. They sound a bit like pigs!

GracesWarbler
A few years ago I spotted this Raven breaking limestone off of a larger rock to swallow. Has anyone seen something like this? I know that birds will swallow rocks to aid digestion, but it was interesting that this bird apparently wanted new pieces.

I knew they had big gatherings in the Mississippi Flyway, and they flag as a rare here in Michigan.

We get groups of a few thousand in VT, but just across the lake NY gets a much bigger movement.

They tend to congregate in the saltmarshes & farming areas, especially corn stubble. It was near dusk & this particular area probably had over 10,000 birds within a 1/2 mile radius with more constantly arriving to roost.
GracesWarbler
Here's an older video of an absolute ton of Purple Martins roosting in Austin. They fly around for a bit before roosting, and they're really impressive!
chipperatl
Not sure if I should just start a separate thread or not. Trying to put together a fairly comprehensive list of YouTube videos and channels related to birds/birding. One thing with the past couple of years is stuff that Audubon groups would have just done live, they had to do via video and those recordings are available. Lots of videos on ID, trips, etc. Does anyone have any favorite videos, channels or blogs they watch/watched?
Jefferson Shank
Does anyone have any favorite videos, channels or blogs they watch/watched? BBC Earth has had some amazing footage of birds and nature in general.

I like the challenge videos those two did against each other. Mattheis always has such great luck with wildlife out there, especially the Great Gray Owls. GracesWarbler
A Yellow-headed Blackbird making a call a few days ago. Their calls are pretty harsh, but I still love these bright birds.
