Tony Leukering
Green-winged Teal -- To me, two of the definitive beasts are the top-right individuals in each photo. The top-photo bird suggests the typical long- and square-tailed look and the bottom-photo bird shows the topside wing pattern. The birds are obviously all of the same size. In the bottom photo, the leftmost bird shows a white triangle on the underside of the wings and the bird below and behind it shows the same tail appearance as the top-right bird in the upper photo.
The Bird Nuts
Thanks! I believe Green-winged Teal was my impression in the field due to the size and flight style.
