Dan P
Take 12-5-2020 at Los Angeles River, north of Fletcher Drive bridge, Atwater Village, CA. Is the bird on the right in the first photo a Green-winged Teal? And are the two birds in the second photo American Wigeons? Thanks.

Dan P
Thanks Michael and Birding Boy. That's the first photo that I've gotten of a GWTE (that I know of).
Tony Leukering
Both birds in the first photo are Green-winged Teal. The distinctive pale triangular patch below the tail is visible on both. In the ABA-Area, no other dabbling-duck species has a bill that is mostly blue, except for Eurasian Wigeon; male Northern Pintails have only blue highlights Edited December 19, 2020 by Tony Leukering addition
