Avery
I can confirm the redhead and pintails. Not sure on the scaup, but I’m fine with greater.

Charlie Spencer
#1 - how have we eliminated Lesser? #3 - same question regarding Ring-necked?

For number 3, ring necked have a different head shape, much more pointy, as well as having a different bill, and still a more solidly dark back.
Caley Thomas
@Charlie Spencera little update on the Scaup situation...my ebird reviewer flagged it, got in touch with me, I sent all of my original video media to them, and they said lesser for all...they sounded like quite the expert on the matter, pointing out that it was a common practice for them in this particular area to be scanning through all of the (rather common) lessers in the hopes of finding a rare greater in the mix, often to no avail. Just wanted to give you props for having reservations on those; you are clearly not alone and I've changed my list accordingly (I don't want any trouble with my local reviewer this early on in my career, lol).
The Bird Nuts
I thought the Scaup looked like Lessers, but decided not to say anything and just watch the thread for other opinions, but then forgot about it. Sorry...
Caley Thomas
@The Bird NutsWhat I learned from it, is Occam's Razor should have had me starting with a Lesser Scaup ID guess, only to possibly be talked into a Greater Scaup by more experienced minds than my own, due to the Lesser Scaup being far more probable than the Greater Scaup in my area :-).
