neilpa
Are both of these Pigeon Guillemots? Seen in Puget Sound in Seattle this morning. Would be my first alcids 1. 2.
Jefferson Shank
Looks like a Marbled Murrelet with the solid black back and black 'cap' Pigeon Guillemot
neilpa
Just now, Jefferson Shank said: 1. Looks like a Marbled Murrelet with the solid black back and black 'cap' I thought that originally but the bill and head shape seems off. A more bulbous head shape in my shots vs more streamlined head. I obviously have no experience with these yet so was just going off the comparison photos on allaboutbirds.org. Although, it appears a little more variable based on this pic https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Marbled_Murrelet/media-browser/70998621
Jefferson Shank
What do the rest of you think? I am open to corrections. I don't have experience with these birds...

neilpa
Here's a couple more photos I found on Macaulay that show the white vs. no white in the wing that would further point to Pigeon Guillemot Pigeon Guillemot - https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/79848951 Marbled Murrelet - https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/127698731
