I thought it is a crossbill but the plumage does not match. The warbler in Winnipeg 9/14/2018 also in Winnipeg. Which warbler is it? Kevin 3,386
The fist one is a Northern Shrike. Edit: Sniped! Edited Wednesday at 11:38 PM by Kevin
Aidan B 529
I think the second is a Blackpoll Warbler, the orange feet and the tail pattern match.
IKLland 280
1. Northern shrike.nice find! 2. in my opinion I do no5 have any experience with blackpoll/ bay breasted warblers, so in that case I will leave it as blackpoll/ bay breasted
Tony Leukering 2,280
In addition to the orange toes (which is an absolute differentiating character ruling out Bay-breasted), the strong suggestion of streaking below and the relatively strong eyeline also argue strongly for Blackpoll.
