sbruenjes 25
I spent the day at Overpeck Park in Northern New Jersey, mostly looking for a pink-footed goose that was reported on E-Bird recently...so I spent a lot of time looking at geese. This one seemed odd with the facial markings, but I'm sure its just a Canada Goose with a very narrow cheek patch... but I didn't know there was such a thing as a pink footed goose until recently....
Jefferson Shank 2,011
This is a Canada Goose. I'm not sure what is up with the weird head.

Both Canada and Cackling can show extensive white and limited white. Sibley has some good plates that show that. 1
