Upload it to an external site such as Flickr or Imgur and post the link here.  Some link formats, such as BBCode (which you can get under the Share menu), will create a preview here, which is very helpful.

download your images on to microsoft powerpoint and then shrink them.

I can't agree.  There's no reason to shrink images when you can use an external site, and it can make them harder to identify.  (Cropping them, on the other hand, can make them easier to identify, but still use an external site.)

If you include photos on your eBird listings, 

Click on the photo on the checklist to open it.
Right-click on the photo
Click on 'Copy Image Address'
Paste the address into the text box of your post here.
