Connor Cochrane 2,624
Since the forums aren't really active right now, I observed this woodpecker 2 weekends ago in Point Reyes, CA. I have a full description with photos and audio on the ebird checklist. We're thinking this is a Downy x Hairy hybrid. I'm interested in seeing your opinions. https://ebird.org/checklist/S79051884

Tony Leukering 2,531
Congrats! I'm glad that others are thinking about this hybrid combo, which I suspect has been overlooked for decades, considering that the two species are broadly sympatric. I know of something like 6 records, and Steve Mlodinow, Kathy Mihm Dunning, and I have found four of 'em -- and we all are/were CO eBird reviewers.
