Date and location would help here, and I don't believe the observer included that in their original post on COBirds.

That tail looks pretty long. BRSP has the longest tail out of the three often confused species (BRSP, CHSP, and CCSP), with CHSP having the shortest. This bird looks pretty plain and lacks any rufous or cinnamon color in the scaps, pointing towards Brewer's. But, without knowing the date and location I would be more comfortable leaving it as Spizella sp.

That tail though.
