Ducks and Sandpipers

Taken 1-17-2021 in the afternoon on the Los Angeles River in the Sepulveda Basin, Van Nuys, CA.

1) What is the duck at the bottom right?  I can't figure out the white stripe.

2) Are these Least Sandpipers?

3) Don't know

4) I think its the same bird as #3

The bottom right I’d say is a female gadwall based on the white on the wing. 

The other duck is a Northern Pintail

The "white stripe" is simply the distal end of the white patch on the secondaries of a female Gadwall. The rest of the white patch is hidden by the tertials.

They have yellow legs.

yeah, westerns always have black legs.

They just looked off to me for some reason. Guess I’m not used to seeing non-breeding Leasts.

Whaaaaaaaaaat???? For once, the only plumages I paid attention to were the non-breeding ones for shorebirds... maybe this spring I’ll get to see some breeding plumage birds zip by.
