Gry
Over the years, I've accumulated a number of bird houses, but I was never sure where to put them all so that squirrels and other predators wouldn't disturb them. I ultimately decided mounting them on poles would be best, but then it was hard to find good poles that didn't cost an arm and a leg. This spring I finally got them all mounted and set up in my yard, and now, we have our first brood of baby house wrens!

I have a location that they come to every year where they’re super tame, just need a good lighting angle to get a nice shot. Hopefully a few weeks.
IKLland
These are from today, but the Mallards were better IMO, so these are going here. I’m not sure why, but I love this shot. My first decent photo of a yellowthroat!
IKLland
Not the type of shot I upload to Ebird or anything, but here’s a creative edit of the above bluebird shot! Just thought it was cool.

dragon49
More Muscovy ducks on the way. ? The birds were in the act for approximately 90 seconds. I once saw Red-tailed Hawks mating, and it only lasted a few seconds. https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/465314371

lonestranger
I found it comical watching this young Red-bellied Woodpecker trying to keep it's balance by using its wing to help prop him/her up while shifting it's weight around and squawking between feedings. 9

Artistic bird shots are so cool, and under-appreciated, and by that I mean most birder photographers don't attempt shots like this. 5

Observed doing "wing-flash" behavior as it flew/hopped on the ground. Apparently, the reason for this is unknown. "Uunknown"? I have read and heard it is to flush prey.

There are studies which show the behavior being done by adults right before they enter the nest, and by young birds before they can forage on their own. Some other mockingbird species, which lack white wing patches, do so as well. So, probably not simply to flush prey.
