lonestranger
I've had some fun lately trying to shoot Red-winged Blackbirds while they balance on top of the grasses of the hay field thats been planted beside us this year. This guy was showing off his colours but his audience didn't want anything to do with him.
Quiscalus quiscula
I kind of like the colors of this robin shot https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/595618921 Old cardinal shot from April, looks a little less fuzzy in Macaulay. (taken through a window) https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/595619551 Thoughts appreciated on both.

It would be a 5 star IMO, but the blurred out leaf covers a large portion of the birds bill, and part of its head. It's still a really nice photo. The colors are great. If you have the editing software, maybe tone down the whites? That would make the brightness in the spaces between the leafs not as bright. If you don't have the editing software to do that, you can download a free app that I use to edit all of my photos. It's called Adobe Photoshop Express. It's really simple to use, and has a lot of different features. I can't imagine that you would need more than what it offers, but if you did, Gimp is another great editing app. It has everything you could ever need, it's just really hard to use. Hope that helped! BTW, nice framing with the tree on one side, and leaving the other side where the bird is looking open! That can be hard to do sometimes! lonestranger
Always fun to watch the interactions at the feeders. Trying to align the photos afterwards wasn't as much fun, but it was a good reminder that a tripod would have eliminated the need for alignment afterwards.

I’d give it a high 4, nothing else to add on to what @Birds are cool said. Second: Nice shot for being taken through a window! I’d give it a low/mid 4. 1

lonestranger
I went to check on the Osprey nest this morning. I was surprised to see the three young ones still on the nest as I glanced over before pulling down into the parking area. There were only two visible from the lower angle of the parking area so I snapped a few quick shots and then turned my camera on the dew glistening spider webs for a few minutes. When I turned my attention back to the nest, it was empty and all I could see was one Osprey quickly flying out of sight. It was just a matter of minutes before I saw two of the three return to the nest but the third one didn't return with them. I watched for a few minutes as the two on the nest settled in for a rest. I was curious about the third youngster but hunger got the better of me so I headed home for breakfast satisfied in knowing that the birds have fledged and while I may not have seen their first flight, I did get a few more shots before they completely leave the nest.
Clip
I have seen all 3 species of Scoters in Colorado and I have seen Black and Surf in Florida. But until Wednesday I had never seen and photographed an adult male Surf or Black Scoter. I did have White-winged adult male from Colorado and I included it here. We also saw our first Black Bear in Florida on Wednesday. I'd say we almost hit it but we actually missed it by 25 to 30 feet as it ran across the road in front of us. I saw it coming as it burst from a wooded area on the driver's side of the car (I pointed and told my husband to look out, he brakes hard) out into the open ran right in front us and then disappears into the wooded area on the passenger side. No chance for a photo but cool to see. I have only seen black bears one other time but in Colorado. I saw 5 that day. Super fun Wednesday with a few firsts! Also it unusual for Scoters of any species to spend the summer in Florida. These were in Franklin County, FL.
