MaryS 0
Riding in the car so I did not get a picture but both my husband and I saw what looked like a solid white dove or pigeon in flight along side I-85/40 in Alamance County, North Carolina. I have never seen such a white bird - completely white. Are there any birds native to NC that are completely white as described?
Bird Brain 1,475
Welcome to Whatbird!! Rock Pigeons come in many colors, and I've seen lots of them that were solid white. Technically, they're not native, but tame ones that established breeding populations in the wild. They occur all across the U.S., and other most countries in the world as well. Aveschapines 912
I agree that it could be a white Rock Dove, or possibly an escaped domestic pigeon or dove. I had one visiting my patio for several days a while back.
