Miss Marge 28
Can I just get an opinion on these Redpolls? Taken in Toronto, Canada today. March 6 Common Hoary Hoary
Birding Boy 2,271
I would say all are Common. First bird seems to dark for a Hoary too me. The Second bird, although it is paler overall, has extensive streaking on the undertail coverts (Hoaries can have at most 3 or 4 thin streaks I believe), and a lot of pink on the chest. The third bird I would lean Common as well, with that largish bill and very dark and heavy side streaking. Photos of the rump and/or undertail coverts would help confirm though. The second bird is closer to a hoary, but the rump looks dark. Third bird is too streaky.
