I'm working on getting my databases working (removing all the stupid hacky stuff I did hahaha). Also, specifically for @The Bird Nuts, I noticed that you had a bunch of duplicate 'BirdNut1' accounts, if you will. I combined all of them, but I did not know which one you are currently using. Once the website is up and running, if you lose your score, just post on this thread or shoot me a PM and I'll fix it. Some features that are on my horizon: - More quizzes! My next targets are shorebirds, thrushes, vireos, Robin-like songs (tanagers, grosbeaks, etc.) - Better leaderboards linked across quizzes so we can see rankings overall! - Data about commonly missed species - Instructional materials - Redesign? As always, any suggestions on what you guys want to see are appreciated! Just a fun aside because this is probably like wayyyy far off but it could be fun to do some machine learning to try to separate very similar species by sound or photo. Think merlin but more specific, like an AI to separate Alder/Willow Flycatcher or for NFC calls. I have some experience with neural nets but I'm crazy busy right now. Awesome! Your sites have been super helpful and informative to me. Can't wait to see what you put out next! Glad you are doing this!

Hasan
I'm super excited to announce that my quiz is back online- this time with a way better site architecture and 11 quizzes! http://benguofilms.com/quiz.php Some of the improvements include: - Bug fixes - Navigation bar and a database to connect all the quizzes - The beginnings of a warbler song guide with quizzes that correspond to parts of the guide - It now shows what species you skip, as well as lists all of the species within that quiz on the right, even if you haven't gotten any yet - Account syncing between quizzes But overall, the main improvement has been backend stuff and streamlining the process of adding more quizzes- it only takes a minute or so to add another! I'm also added species pages for each bird, though at the moment there is no content. And, I'm going to be adding a page which shows all of the leaderboards very soon. Some very exciting stuff coming! As always, please post any bugs, questions, or suggestions. Edited March 28, 2021 by Hasan
Hasan
Also, yes, some of the descriptions are a little rough around the edges- that will improve with time. I mainly wanted to deploy the major changes to the site, so I can update content later.
Hasan
@Avery@Colton V @The Bird Nuts Any tips for separating Bicknell's and Gray-cheeked Thrush calls? Or separating those species from others? I'm really struggling with them... Edited April 3, 2021 by Hasan
Hasan
Actually, it's mainly just Veery/Gray-cheeked/Bicknell's calls that I can't tell apart. Like at all.

Those are my worst ones! The Veery call seems longer and more descending to the rest of them. Bicknell's seems a little scratchier than Gray-cheeked, but I still get them wrong all the time. I have no real experience with these thrushes so I don't even know if what I'm saying is accurate.

Connor Cochrane
Quick question for you guys. As you can tell by my 40%, I’m not good at eastern warblers. Jerry Friedman
You know what would be unutterably cool? Letting the user select the list of species. It's also cool that I have no idea how much work that would be. ? 1
