You might try shaking a Juniper tree. They can go unnoticed unless they move. Or so I read. I haven't seen one yet myself.

Just got a wasp identified to species at BugGuide after 6.5 years.  It's Ammophila ferruginosa, and the unfortunate caterpillar is Schinia gaurae, the Clouded Crimson.  It reminded me of another arthropod I saw that day.  The people at BugGuide couldn't help with that one.  Apparently you need a photo of the underside.
