From some of the results I've seen on here from spell check taking over, I think it's pretty hopeless!!! And yes, I agree with @Kevin , y'all's is a word. I've been using it all my life!! ☺️ In regard to y'all: https://www.wafb.com/2021/07/19/southerners-rejoice-yall-among-300-new-words-added-dictionarycom/ It's official ?. 1

But "y'all's" isn't mentioned. (I've heard "your-all" from a Kentuckian.)

I'm not really sure how I get this type of photo, I just kind of point the camera and shoot. My Shutter speed for Dragonflies is usually around 3200-6400 of a second.

I haven't tried much but I did manage one once. Darner, pretty sure it's Aeshna sp. I've been trying to restrain myself, but Blue-eyed Darner Paddle-tailed Darner I don't think my camera even has a high-enough shutter speed to "freeze" the wings. All the in-flight pictures of dragonflies in this thread have been large darners (Aeshnidae). That may not be a coincidence--they're big, and some, especially Paddle-tailed, hover a lot. I have gotten flight shots of "flier" species of other families that were good enough for documentation. And then there are less cooperative aeshnids, such as the Riffle Darner, the male of which patrols up and down streams and never, ever stops. Here's a selfie with one.

Clip
@Jerry FriedmanExcellent shots! Like I said I don't try very often to get in the air shots. Perhaps I should though with my new camera being so big I think it will be even more difficult. So is my Darner the a Paddle-tailed Darner like yours? The tail at least is very similar. Mine was taken in Colorado.

Mine was taken in Colorado. I think it is Paddle-tailed, with the black line across the face and the pale slash on the first abdominal segment. Others may be able to give you a more definitive ID.
