Dan P
Taken 3-24-2021 at Antelope Buttes in Antelope Valley, CA (northern Los Angeles County) I'm thinking this is a Sage Thrasher (which I haven't seen before), but can't rule out a juvenile Northern Mockingbird. Connor Cochrane
Definitely Sage Thrasher. I doubt they’re that common up there. Edited March 29, 2021 by Connor Cochrane
Bird Brain
Agree with Sage Thrasher. Nice bird!!
DLecy
Habitat and time of year matter here. Keep in mind there are no juveniles mockingbirds in March. Habitat is good for Sage Thrasher and there are numerous reports at/around this location.

Additionally, juvenile NOMO have white wing patches and large white patches on the outer tail feathers, both of which this bird lacks.
