Five? I know it’s sharp, but the shot is too cluttered. It’s a four for me.

I don't know if that's too advanced an aesthetic judgement for eBird ratings. Just my opinion but the bird is in focus, fully visible, and the colours are sharp and bright. It's got the branches in the way but is clearly visible despite those. And it's interesting, looking straight at the viewer.

I can’t see how sharp it is since I’m on my phone currently, but I’d probably give it a five and treat it like a well composed headshot. Might just be me though.

Not just you. Fantastic photo!

It's very sharp. I see what your saying about headshot. I'll change it to a five, after viewing it on my computer.

This observer has a picture currently on the eBird home page. I checked out their other photos and there are some amazing ones. I think this photo is one of the more stunning photos I have ever seen. FWIW, if you have ever been on a pelagic, you know how challenging photography is that environment is. Rad pic.

The checklist is absolutely drool-worthy as well.

Man that sure is a great shot, especially considering it's a pelagic species! I imagine pelagic photography is like trying to walk and use a camera at the same time, Lol.

And holy crap that checklist is absolutely amazing. I've seen a few of these incredible Australian pelagic checklists before. 7 albatross species?!?! Just wow.

Wow! That's an absolutely incredible photo! I can't even imagine getting something like that. That checklist is something unbelievable as well.

Here's that same person's checklist from yesterday. Might even be better than the previous day!

That's bonkers. Simply unreal.

Granted, with these lists one has to take into account that they are lumped into one giant all day pelagic trip list, which is actually not following the eBird pelagic protocol. eBird also doesn't want you to use offshore hotspots for pelagics either, as they are intended to aggregate historical data and are NOT supposed to be used for pelagic birding. Gripes aside, it sure makes for a mouthwatering list.
