LisaMarie 0
A friend is looking for an id on a bird that has been hanging around her yard in Arizona. It tends to stay up in the trees so she’s never seen the top, but from her video it has at least white and black feathers, and she told me it has a yellow beak. Any ideas?? https://www.facebook.com/1030940596/posts/10221988253948697/?d=n
Avery 1,905
It appears to me to be a magpie or jay or something. I am not familiar with the birds in your area so I am not sure the exact species.
Trevor L. 458
Well, it certainly isn't a wild bird, that's for sure. Looks like a species of turaco, and while my knowledge on that group is limited, a quick search shows a match with the plantain-eaters of Africa. Your friend should contact the local zoo or any local wildlife parks. It is very likely an escaped bird. 1

Definitely report this.

Trevor L. 458
It looks like there's an exotic bird vendor in Arizona that had plantain-eaters on their site. Maybe one of theirs?
