There is no breeding season for my local Muscovy Ducks, as I see chicks all year.  There are currently 3 broods in the neighborhood.  Depending on how you define the local area, there are around 30-50 adult, full-time residents.  There would be hundreds competing for limited resources, if it weren't for the raptors playing one of nature's roles.

Common Gallinule-like the others above posted by me today Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive, FL. According to ebird July is the least birded month of the year. It is hot and the mosquitos and biting flies and ants...fewer rarities, can make birding a little less fun in the summer but then there are babies.
