SE PA. Bird is significantly smaller than other geese (see pics) and falls into the larger end of possible size for Cackling, but is not as short necked or stubby billed as I would expect. I'd love more experienced opinion on if this is a size outlier for Canada or a bill size outlier for Cackling.

what a size difference! Is it a lesser Canada goose? That's quite a difference!

It's hard to say anything with certainty from these photos, but it looks to me like a male and female of the same subspecies; there can at times be a fairly large apparent size differential.

If not, probably referable to one of the migrant forms that breed in the taiga; they're all smaller.
