Toronto BlueJay
What is this? I thought it was a sparrow but a lady that saw it as well said it was "for sure" a Northern Waterthrush. Taken at Presqu'ile Provincial Park on May 26. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10155424401100009.1073742002.683685008&type=1&l=57aeb10356 Thanks

Nighthawk01
We all make mistakes. I misidentified a Krider’s Hawk for a White-tailed Kite. Took a full day to sort out that mistake.
Dax
I'm colorblind and called a house finch a young cowbird. Hid in my room for days.

Took a full day to sort out that mistake. I just had to google both those birds to take a look. I've never seen either. If I had seen the Krider’s Hawk, I would have said "faint belly band must be a young red-tail". If I had seen the white-tailed Kite I would have said "Shrike" hahaha. See that's why I need you guys! Though I don't think I did too badly with my identifications this time around. (except of course the red wing blackbird -- which we will not discuss). Charlie Spencer
A month or so ago I was out with a group I'd never been with before. I saw an Indigo Bunting and wanted to point it out, but what I said was, "There's a PAINTED bunting!" When everyone said, "A PAINTED Bunting? Where, where?!?", I immediately resembled a Scarlet Tanager. Then: Now:
