Birding Boy
I really like this Snowy Egret shot I took the other day; problem is I don’t know if I should edit it or not. One shows the pretty much unedited version, with a pretty well exposed Snowy and dark background. Second shows again a decently exposed Snowy Egret, but I lightened the underexposed background a bit. Thanks in advance for any thoughts on these!
Connor Cochrane
Is it just me or are the photos not loading?

The Bird Nuts
Hmm...a mix between the two maybe? I always spend way too much time trying to decide on these types of things with my photos! 2

Right, I usually do ok when the bird and background are of similar brightness or whatever, but when it comes down to photos like this I get somewhat lost haha.

Thank you so much, that means a lot! I really appreciate your edit suggestion too, people have rated it on eBird so I guess they liked it too haha. We don’t really have cattle egrets here( wish we did), but we do have good numbers of great egret, I’d say in my experiences they are fairly common, but here the snowy egrets are abundant. https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/323845741#_ga=2.119310081.900520919.1618625506-1955318793.1592873967
sbruenjes
I like to have one picture on my flicker account that represents each bird, and I often don't know which picture to use... I was looking for a thread and thought maybe this one.. I don't think either picture is great, but if you were going to post one of them... which is a better picture of a dark-eyed junco?

sbruenjes
I really appreciate that.. One more if you don't mind.. which picture is better for the hairy woodpecker? I think the first picture is clearer, but the second picture captures a better angle..
