Dan P
Taken 4-11-2021 in the late afternoon at Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve in Van Nuys, CA. Is this a regular ol' domestic Graylag Goose? I know there's lots of variability, but I haven't seen any pictures of them with a black tip on the bill and a spot on the throat. And it seems about the same size or a little smaller than the Canada Goose.
Aidan B
Some sort of Domestic Goose, not sure what species (or hybrid) it is.
Tony Leukering
The black nail MIGHT be an indication of some Swan Goose genes, but I don't see anything else in the bird to suggest Swan Goose, although these white birds can be very difficult. The head shape, neck thickness, furrowed aspect to neck plumage, bill shape, and lack of bill knob all point to Graylag and away from Swan. 1
