I'm curious what other hobbies folks here have...

I enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities. But I also enjoy working in the kitchen. Today I made biscuits in our #14 Griswold skillet. @Jodi Nielson might appreciate. I also made ice tea, and my wife made the rest--sausage gravy, stuffed peppers fresh from the garden and zipper peas, also fresh from the garden.

#14 Gris....NICE!  Looks purty too!  I don't have one of those.  I do have an eclectic collection of primarily Sidney, "WAGNER", and my everyday pans--Hammered Lodge from the 50s.  There are a few Griswolds and others mixed in too.?

There is a story about the big skillet. When my wife and I got married, I learned about Griswold because her grandmother had a nearly complete set of Griswold skillets. I remembered our big skillet from home and wondered if it might me a Griswold or maybe another vintage brand. I wasn't even sure where it was. But I found it...in an old car...full of bolts and other parts. Needless to say I claimed it. It is in great shape, with a perfectly flat bottom. BTW, do you know of any way to straighten a bulging cast iron skillet? My wife recently came across a #9 Griswold with a seriously warped bottom. I was brainstorming some ideas for returning it to flat, but before I wasted any time on it, she gave it to her brother for a camping skillet. I've looked online for a method to straighten a skillet and never could find anything.

Every year around Christmas and some times to celebrate birthdays since moving to Florida and being close to family again we have hosted creative parties. Each time we have done something artistic or creative. Twice we did Christmas Ornaments, we did terrariums, sand painting, candle making and then this past Saturday we did tie dye. This is one I made. All 5 of us made a few. Next weekend we are meeting up to go out to dinner (some place casual talk is Greek food at the moment) and we will wear one of our creations. This was a two step process. First soak them in the dye for 24 hours. Then rinse and wash. Which is why the reveal dinner. We will probably meet at our house show off all our creations and then head to dinner wearing one. Super fun making them. This has been a super fun tradition.

@HamRHead  There is no way, that I've ever heard of, to re-flatten a skillet.  Collectors affectionately call them "spinners".  Great camping skillets though.  Lots of skillets are ruined by people who don't know what they are doing, tossing them in a fire to clean them--they crack, warp, or exhibit a red hue caused by fire damage.  It's a shame because there is an finite supply of the oldies.  There are much easier and less damaging ways to strip and clean them.

Although I wouldn't call it a hobby, I have always enjoyed brain teaser type puzzles. Before the Rubik's cube wasted months of my life until I figured out the solution, the Missing Link puzzle amused me for hours, and the wooden and metal puzzles are always entertaining for a while.

I used to have dozens of those wooden ones, although many of them were the same solution in different shapes.

Back in the '70s I had one of these in plastic.  A couple of years ago I made my own with wood cubes from a hobby store.  There are web sites with a few thousand different figures you can make from the seven basic pieces.
